June 21, 2018 - In partnership with TechShop, Plaisir Maths, Xavier Niel's School 42 and Snips, Women in AI organized the first edition of its summer camp for high school girl students in Paris. This initiative aimed at reducing the gender gap in the field of Artificial Intelligence (AI), and empowering the future female leaders in the industry
. WAI Summer Camp is a 2-day educational program on Artificial Intelligence for young students between the ages of 13 and 16. It is organized around 3 pillars: conferences, mentoring sessions, as well as workshops. In addition, the girls took part in mini projects around the creation of a robot. As an outcome, the students learned the basics of Artificial Intelligence and robotics, what it takes to build a career in the industry, and gained basic skills to support in their decision-making towards the future.
